The art of the Dance

A few weeks ago I got to spend a day photographing a horseshow out here in WA. It presented some challenges from the photography side of things but overall it was a good learning experience and a fun time.
The art of Dressage when done right is a very impressive display of horsemanship as the horse and rider waltz around the arena in an elegant display of motion and rhythm. It reminds me of an eloquent ball with many people in attendance all dancing around the room in perfect timing to the music. In a dance one is the lead partner that guides the twosome around the dance floor. In the same way the rider leads the horse as they move about the arena. In both cases there is a leader and a flower, but it takes both of them working together in unison to create the beauty of the dance.
Just as in marriage it takes two people “moving” together in the same direction to create a beautiful life together.

So let the dance begin……..well after you get on that is…

So until the next show...

"Just as experience dictates to the ballet teacher the length of time necessary to train his students, so the horse, too, needs time to mature into a great four legged dancer.”
