Elk hunting and snow!

The days leading up to hunting season started out cold but sunny. But when the first week hit so did the heat! For the first two weeks it was hot, sunny, and very beautiful. Then the third week came and with it came the snow. My job in all this hunting is to bring in the kill. Once the hunter has shot and killed his elk the guide send a GPS location back to the ranch. With that map location we determine where they are and head out on horseback with mules to bring in their elk.

The ride back was epically beautiful with
the fall leaves covered by snow

Back at the ranch I had to get a few shots of
the snow and the horses

With all this awesome snow the girls decided it
was time for a "snow ride!"

Hope you are having an awesome day making memories!!

  1. Sounds like a pretty fascinating job. Hunting can be pretty exciting, especially during the winter chill. The cold can make you feel tense and ready to hunt. Anyway, that place looks beautiful. The forest, the snow, and the trees with yellow leaves make it very scenic. Tremendous, indeed!
